It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Geraldine Judy McCurry (Burnsville, North Carolina), who passed away on May 7, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Brantley and Ruby Belle Bailey Briggs; her significant other Billy Dean McCurry; her son John McCurry; and her sister Catherine Briggs Higgins.

She is survived by: her daughters, Cathy McCurry King (Eddie) of Burnsville, Sherri McCurry Carroway (Terry Langford) of Burnsville and Lori McCurry Fowler (Charles Neal) of Swannanoa; her grandchildren, Chad King (Michelle), Brody King (Aimee), Eden Carroway (Sez), Jenny Carroway Ballew (Dustin), Will McCurry (Emily), Ben McCurry (Brittany), Whitney McCurry (Sam), Thomas Neal, Isabella Fowler and Sophia Neal; and her great grandchildren, Henry, Emmett McCurry, Audrey, Emma Ballew, Victoria, Waylon and Wyatt King.
