He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Jack and Etta Virginia Whitson Buchanan; his brother Joel Buchanan; and his nephew Joshua Buchanan. He is survived by: his brothers, Bobby Buchanan (Anita) of Bakersville, Dean Buchanan (Mary) of Tipton Hill and Mark Buchanan of Bakersville. He is also survived by one niece, two nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews along with several cousins.
