He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Glenn Thomas and Sarah Jane Johnson Thomas; his wife Mary Evangeline "Van" Thomas; and his siblings, Clint Thomas, Cleo Thomas Bently and Shirley Thomas Brown.
He is survived by: his daughter Vanessa Thomas Fox of Newdale; his grandchildren, Robert Fox (April) of Bakersville and Keisha Chrisawn (Kris) of Possum Trot; his great grandchildren, Landon, Jocelyn, Katelyn and Karter; and his sisters, Reba Thomas Hoges of Sugar Grove, NC and Linda Thomas Farmer of Mtn.
