She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Wilcox and Celia Twiggs Wilcox; her husband James "Jay" Buchanan; her granddaughter Allison Buchanan; her siblings, David Wilcox (Sandy), Madge Biddix (Boyd) and Betty Biddix (Walter); and her brothers-in-law, Gene Buchanan and Charles Carpenter.

She is survived by: her sons, Randal Buchanan (Leigh Ann) of Young Cove and Jimmy Buchanan; her grandson Brennan Buchanan of Young Cove; and her sisters, Sue Buchanan of Young Cove and Linda Carpenter (Donald) of Bakersville.
