He is survived by: his children, Kellie Wheeler Mullis (David) of Texas and Clay Wheeler; his grandchildren, Seth Mullis of Texas, Gage Mullis, Savannah and Lakelyn Wheeler of Asheville, NC; his siblings, Linda Ann Austin (Jimmy) of Etowah, NC, Flora Faye Edwards of Burnsville, NC and David Neal Wheeler of Burnsville, NC; and his close friend Bill Boone.
