She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Peterson and Etta Edwards Peterson; and her spouse Willie Bennett. She is survived by: her children, Kylie, Keely, Trinity, Pierson and Heather Ledford (Brent); her grandsons, Nathaniel, Adam and Matthew; her son David Ray (Rita); her grandchildren, Robbey and Chad (Forence); her son Brian Ray (Kristi); her grandchildren, Victoria, Kaleigh, Courtney, Amber, Caleb and Josh; and her children, Sandy Hilemon (Maurice), John Bennett (Leigh) and Beth Shelton (Eddie). She is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Email (501 E Main St, Burnsville, NC 28714). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, November 16th 2025 at the Bailey Hill Cemetery.
