He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommie Hackney and Lois Thompson Hackney; and his brothers, Thomas "Doody" Hackney (Joyce), Gary Dean Hackney and Michael Owen Hackney.
He is survived by: his wife Debbie Little Hackney; his children, Troy Hackney, Jennifer of Rougemont, NC, Tony Hackney, Tina of Liberty, NC, Tara Hackney and Shane of Graham, NC; his grandchildren, Brooke Hackney, Lily Hackney, Griffin Gagner, Austin Gordon and Riley Gordon; and his sisters, Lois "Bunny" Murray (Frank) and Becky Dahl (Michael).
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Liberty Hospice.
