It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dean Leroy Weingard of Calabash, North Carolina, born in North East, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 8, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Everall P. "Doc" Weingard and Ruth Margaret Nearing Weingard; and his sister Donna Northrop. He is survived by : his sons, Brent and Bryan; his daughter-in-law Sheila; his grandchildren, Kendall, Brooke, Dean, Jenna and Shane; and also Kristy Sulin.

“We met your father when we moved to Calabash 2.5 years ago. We were next door neighbors. Amazing that we both lived in Montgomery County Maryland and our paths never crossed. I will always remember his love & devotion to his strong pup Tongs. Plus, the smile on his face when he told the alligator in the driveway story about a previous neighbor. Our deepest sympathies to his family. Dean was so lucky to have all your love, care and dedication. Plus, to be with you all when he got ill”
