With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Gus Woodrow McPherson of Camden, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus Woodrow McPherson, Sr. (Etta Sawyer McPherson) and Judith Peffer McPherson; his daughter Mary L. Gaskins; and his brothers, John McPherson and Ed McPherson.
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth C. McPherson of Chesapeake, VA, Gus McPherson, III (Theresa) of Camden, NC, Joseph McPherson (Sheila) of Camden, NC and Scott McPherson (Barbara) of Camden, NC; his sister Doris Hassell of Camden, NC; and his close friends, Johnny and Mary Upton. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Twiford Funeral Homes (405 E Church St, Elizabeth City, NC 27909). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Geneva Baptist Church (806 NC Hwy 343 N, South Mills, NC 27976).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Geneva Baptist Church, 806 NC Hwy N, South Mills, NC 27976.
