He was predeceased by: his parents, David Aubrey Wilkie and Mary Alice Womble Wilkie; his wife Thelma Garner Wilkie; his siblings, Carl Wilkie (Glenda Wilkie) and Frances W. Phillips (Bucky Phillips); his son-in-law Tony Patterson; and his grandparents, Whitney Gordon Womble, Memma Frances Thomas Womble, William Vance Wilkie and Lenora Matthews Wilkie Utley.
He is survived by: his daughter Cheryl Wilkie Patterson; and his grandsons, Justin Ryan Patterson (Megan Lynne Patterson) and Tony Patrick Patterson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel (4888 US-1, Vass, NC 28394). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at the Yates Thagard Baptist Church Cemetery (3250 Niagara Carthage Rd, Whispering Pines, NC 28327).
