She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert O'Quinn and Flennie Hallman O'Quinn; her former husband Edward Odell Doby; her husband A. C. Childress; her son Edward "Ed" Odell Doby, Jr.; and her siblings, Mike, Jimmy, Sammie, Mack, Cinda, Jackie, Edna, Louise and Clarise.
She is survived by: her daughters, Brenda Ross, Linda Sloan and Patricia Douglas; and her stepchildren, Cindy Stott (Greg), Duane Childress (Gina), Bonnie Blackman (Barry) and Mollie Gunter (Lynn). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:50 PM at the Lemon Springs Baptist Church (576 Sanders Rd, Sanford, NC 27332). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
