He was predeceased by: his parents, John Chalmers and Alberta Atkins Chalmers; his wife Novella Mckoy Chalmers; and his siblings, Sammie Lee Pearson, Charlie Chalmers of Johnnie Chalmers, R. T, Burnett Chalmers, Winford Chalmers and Clara Bell Blue.
He is survived by: his children, David Chalmers (Tamecha) of Raeford, NC, Susan Martin of Dunn, NC and Kymberly Chalmers of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters- in-law, three brothers- in-law a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many faithful friends.
