He is survived by : his wife Leta Frye Smith; his children, Joseph Arlie Smith (Julie) and Darlene Newton (Willie); his grandchildren, Lindsey McCumber (Doug) and Will Newton; his great grandchild Wyatt McCumber; his siblings, Mary Ruth Powers of Bennett, Clara Jean Hussey of Bennett, Carol Hicks of Staley and Johnny Smith (Linda) of Carthage; and his siblings-in-law, Nat Murray, Dot Smith and Karen Smith.
