It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sarah Margaret Stewart (Cameron, North Carolina), who passed away on November 13, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Cary Lee McLeod, Sr. and Rozella Jane McCallum McLeod; her husband William Andrew Stewart, Jr. (Bill); her brother Cary Lee McLeod, Jr.; and her siblings-in-law, Martha Frances Stewart Franklin, Eldon Fountain Thornton and Roy Douglas Williams.

She is survived by : her sister Jane McCallum McLeod Thornton (Elizabeth Ann McLeod Williams); her brother-in-law Ernest Waldo Keith Franklin; her niece Rachel Stewart (Jeffrey Ruppenthal); her nephew Wiley Ward Stewart; her great-nephew Alexander McLeod Stewart (Carol); and her grandchildren, Ian McLeod Ruppenthal, Samuel Fiske Ruppenthal, Martha Grace Stewart, Virgie Elizabeth Stewart and Palmer Lloyd McLeod Stewart. She is also survived by two nephews, and six nieces.
