He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Sandy Godfrey and Willie Lee McGehee Godfrey; his former wife Barbara Ann Godfrey; his sons, Josh and Joshua; his son-in-law Scott Russell; and his siblings, Bobby, Sandy, Johnny, Jack, Wade, Willie, Dollie Carmichael and Joyce Simpson.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Shaw Godfrey (Patty); his children, Annette Kelly (Eugene), Sandra Russell and Gary (Vicki); his stepson Doug Hankins (Angela); and his siblings, Peggy Williams, Daniel, Bonnie Carmichael and March.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:50 PM at the Open Arms Community Church (244 South St, Vass, NC 28394). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 3:45 PM at the Creekside Community Church (2280 Nicholson Rd, Cameron, NC 28326).
