He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Brown and Carrie Jackson Brown; his wife Juanita Shope Brown; and his siblings, Rosalee Carver, Elsie Smith and Louis Brown.
He is survived by: his children, Bobby Brown (Susan), Marilyn Lanier (Johnny) and Norma Jean Scarborough (Rick); his stepson Robert Shope; and his brother James Brown. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Groce Funeral Home - Patton Ave. (1401 Patton Ave, Asheville, NC 28806). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery (125 Dryman Mountain Rd, Asheville, NC 28806).
