He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Roscoe Sanders and Clara Easter Jones; his wife Dolla Mae Sanders; and his siblings, Carl Sanders and Josephine Childers.

He is survived by: his sons, Donald Craig Sanders of Maggie Valley and Brian Kent Sanders of Florissant, Missouri; and his granddaughter Danielle Rene Sanders of Wilmington. He is also survived by six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
