We announce the death of Elizabeth Hand of Candler, North Carolina, who passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 82. Elizabeth will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Russel John and Mabel Lucille Moore Kuper; and her brother Ken Kuper. She is survived by: her daughter Amanda "Mandi" Stevens (Bob); her siblings, Karla Dickey, Kathy Blakely (Chuck), Karilyn Ritter (Dick) and Kevin Kuper; her grandchildren, Abigail Reiser (Randy), Anna Hand and Cheyenne Stevens; her stepgranddaughters, Amanda Lynn Stevens and Elizabeth Winters (Nate); and her close friends, Rabbi Andy Meyerson, Shoshanna Meyerson, Scott and Mary Jo Ferko. She is also survived by her eleven great-grandchildren; her cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Green Hill Cemetery (129 Legion Dr, Waynesville, NC 28786).
