With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Myra Elizabeth Young Matthews (Candler, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 22, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Jack Matthews; her parents, Lillian Gibbs Young and Zenas Young; her brother Bob Young; and her pets, Cherrie, Beau Beau Cousteau, Molly, DeeDee, Candy and Minnie.
She is survived by: her sister-in-law Pat Young of Brevard, NC. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins.

The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Myra Elizabeth "Betty" Young Matthews 's name.
