He is survived by: his wife Sharon Hicks Carter; his sons, David Neal Carter (Wanda) and Michael Carter; his grandchildren, Tristan Carter, Kelsea Carter (Nic), Wyatt Carter (Hayley) and Garrett Carter; his great grandchild Kaysea Carter; and his close friend Jimmy Hamlin.
