With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter Ronald Pirie (Candler, North Carolina), born in Toronto, Ontario, who passed away on May 3, 2026 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jean Bernard and Alec Pirie; his aunt Verna Lazarro; his uncles, Howard and Jack Pirie; his cousin John Pirie; his former wife Christa Herrmann; and his adoptive mother Karen Kleiber (Andrew).

He is survived by: his significant other Margaret Kleiber (Maggie); his children, Brendan Pirie and Kirsten Miles; his son-in-law Nick Miles; his grandson Brendan Miles; his granddaughters-in-law, Grace Grande and Kelly Lawrence; his great grandchild Addison Lawrence; his stepchildren, Jenny Altman, Jamey and Johnathan Altman; his children, Ben and Meg; his half-sister Jeanie Shakespeare; his nephews, Scott, Eric and Jamie Shakespeare; his cousin Lynette Pirie; Robert and Sarah Pirie.
