She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Best and Stella Best; her husband Bill Cook; and her siblings, Carroll Best, Kenneth Best, Jr. and Marie Byers.
She is survived by: her children, Carroll Cook and Genean Pless (David Pless); her grandchildren, Joni Pless Mease (Justin) and Matthew Pless (Brittany Pless); her great grandchildren, Jake Mease, Sawyer Mease, Luke Mease, Warren and Leah Pless; and her sister Bobbie King. She is also survived by several sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home (1 N Main St, Canton, NC 28716). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Crawford (1 N Main St, Canton, NC 28716).
