He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Robert Dye, Sr. and Mary Lucille Thompson Dye; his son Mark; his sister Diane Dye Enns; and his brothers-in-law, Edward Enns and Edgeworth "Ed" Price.
He is survived by: his son Kenneth Robert Dye, III (Keo); his adoptive daughter Rachel Elizabeth Dye; his grandchildren, Jackson Thompson, Abigail and Grace Pierce; and his sister Ann Dye Price. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He requested memorials be made to the Old Pressley Sapphire Mine, 240 Pressley Mine Road, Canton, NC 28716 where a private memorial service will be held at a date to be determined.
