He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Thomas Wells and Betty Shipman Wells Powell; and his siblings, Michael Wells, Paul Wells and Ada Green.

He is survived by: his sisters, Lou Wells and Carolyn Weaver. He is also survived by many other extended family members and a multitude of friends.
