She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Laurie and Douglas Newsom; her husband Jack Barnes; and her stepson David. She is survived by: her brother Joseph Newsom (Joe); and her stepdaughter Tanya. She is also survived by two grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Eureka Baptist Church (11591 Eureka Avenue, Fayetteville, NC 28311).
Instead of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Diane's honor.
