He is survived by : his wife Tracy Watson; his daughters, Ashley Pope (Christopher) and Brittanie Alyssa Smith; his grandchildren, Matthew Derrick Watson II, Gabriella Watson, Mackenzie, Ethan Pope, Zavia and Sofia Cooper; and his great grandchild Mattie Lou Watson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Valley Chapel (4108 College Rd, Wilmington, NC 28412).
