She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry "Bill" Nathaniel Scott and Bonnie Fields Scott; her husband Richard Anthony Byrd; her sister Bonnie Jean Horne Coble; and her brothers-in-law, Jeffrey Paul Myrick and Cary Lane Phillips.
She is survived by: her sisters, Linda Scott Myrick of Carthage and Joyce Scott Phillips of Carthage. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Carthage (110 S Ray St, Carthage, NC 28327).
