He was predeceased by : his grandmother Dinah K. Cain. He is survived by : his parents, Rodney Albert Smith and Teresa Cain Smith; his uncle Phillip R. Smith; his stepmother Diane W. Smith; his brothers, Rodney "Dustin" Smith and Johnny "Ridge" Smith; his stepbrother Steven C. Carpenter; his sister Madison S. McKinney; his stepsister Teresa J. Tyner; his son Jacob Rian Farris; and his grandparents, Marcia Pressley and Johnny A. Smith. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Fry & Prickett Funeral Home (402 Saunders St, Carthage, NC 28327). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
