With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Darrel Floyd Hilliard of Carthage, North Carolina, who passed away on June 8, 2025 at the age of 58. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Darrel Floyd departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Darrel Floyd may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Darrel Floyd leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Poe Hilliard and Iola Hilliard. He is survived by: his sister Rhonda Venable (Jeff) of Carthage; his nieces, Morgan Bullins (Timmy) of Lakeview and Kaitlyn Tillman of Cameron; his nephew Ryan Venable of Carthage; his great-nieces, Abigail, Kinlee and Adalynn; and his pets, Carmela, Waylon, Mittens and Morticia.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 at 4:30 PM at the Phillips Memorial Park (189 Carthage St, Cameron, NC 28326).
