He was predeceased by : his parents, David Whitaker and Stella Carlyle Whitaker; and his wife Alesia Bolton Whitaker. He is survived by : his children, Heather Hutchison (Andrew) of Birmingham, AL, Melissa Cokely of Moody, AL and Tyler Whitaker (Jessica) of Red Springs; his stepchildren, Dana Syner of Ft. Myers, FL and Loren O'Bannon of Ft. Myers, FL; and his siblings, Garland Whitaker (Dianne) of Seven Lakes, Rex Whitaker (Mildred) of Woodlake, Becky Whitaker of Carthage, Andy Whitaker (Barbara) of Cameron and Jenny Black (Bobby) of Carthage. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
