He is survived by : his wife Elizabeth Bruce White; his children, Brandon White of Morrisville, NC, Christopher, Colleen White of Jacksonville, NC, Elizabeth and Kirk Bostwick of Cary, NC; his stepson Thomas Lilly of Bradenton, FL; his grandchildren, Colin, Eva, Megan and Cora; his sister Dorothy Mitchell; his nephews, Sean of Las Vegas, NV and Darren Mitchell of Las Vegas, NV; his niece Tracey Hess of Cherry Hill, NJ; his sister-in-law Joyce Marsh of Fairfax Station, VA; his nieces and nephews, Micah Marsh of Denver, CO and Jimmy Marsh of Warrenton, VA.; and his close friends, Menina and Vandy.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Joe's favorite charities: the Blount County Library, Boy Scouts of America or the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
