With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joyce Coats of Cary, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 16, 2025 at the age of 78. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joyce Coats to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, J. R. Pleasant and Edna Pleasant; and her husband Ronnie Coats. She is survived by: her children, Mark Coats (Jackie) and Melissa Miranda (Tony); her grandchildren, Emsley, Karis, Kyla Coats, Andrew and Alexandra Miranda; and her brothers, Carlton Levone Pleasant (Karen) and Ronnie Pleasant (Cinda). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, Joyce requested we leave something behind that grows by planting a rose bush or tree. Alternatively, donations can be made to The Children's Place at Macedonia Baptist Church, The Raleigh Rescue Mission, or The Raleigh Rose Garden.
