He was predeceased by: his former wife Greta Hartwig Sanderson; his siblings, Robert Sanderson, Dudley Sanderson and Virginia Sanderson Lyons; his siblings-in-law, Barbara Helmer Sanderson and Gerald Lyons; and his son-in-law Alan Faulkner.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth; his brother Mike Sanderson; his sisters-in-law, Linda Sanderson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Jean Sanderson of Cary; his nephew Patrick Sanderson of Columbus; his grandchildren, James Sanderson, Ryan Sanderson (Kristin Powers Sanderson), Catherine Sanderson (David Gigante), Travis Lawson (Abby Lawson), Terra Lawson, Nicholas Lawson and Jacob Lawson; and his great grandchildren, Ellie Lawson, Suede Lawson, Nora Lawson, Eleni Sanderson and Nikolaos Sanderson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM and at 10:45 AM. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church (3008 Old Raleigh Rd, Apex, NC 27502).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
