He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Walter Kellen and Florence Barksdale Kellen; and his sons, Stephen Michael "Mike" Kellen and David Jonathan Kellen. He is survived by: his wife Janice Watts Kellen; his daughter Kristin Kellen Johnson "Kristi" (Clint) of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren, Kellen James Johnson, Claire Elizabeth Johnson of Raleigh and Olivia Jane Kellen of Siler City; his brother Stephen Kellen of Louisburg, NC; his siblings-in-law, Bonnie Winecoff and Kerry Watts; and his sibling's children, Carrie Shevelson, Amy Stephenson, Jenny Alexander and Josh Kellen.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Brown-Wynne Funeral Home (200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Wake Memorial Park (7002 Green Hope School Rd, Cary, NC 27519).
