He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Blake and Irma Morris Blake Prevette; and his brothers, Robert Blake and Thomas Blake. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Blake; his siblings, William Blake, Patricia Sanders and Rebecca Rogers; his children, Jacqueline Blake, Wilbur Blake, Jr. (Brenda), John Blake (Shelly) and Jeff Blake (Angie); his grandchildren, Paul Blake, Justin Blake (Heather), Tiffany Griffin (Jason), Chelsea Jones, Ryan Blake (Rebecca), Elizabeth Blake and Hunter Blake; and his great grandchildren, Oliver, Tallulah, Heidi, Shira, Aria, Carter and Farrah.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Merritt's Chapel (1090 Farrington Point Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27517). A reception was held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Merritt's Chapel Christian Life Center (1090 Farrington Point Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27517).
