He was predeceased by : his parents, George Earnest Cockrell and Mildred Harris Cockrell; and his sister Viola Bowen. He is survived by : his girlfriend Lisa Sullivan of Castalia, NC; his daughter Shannon C. Joyner (Jeff); his grandson Blake Joyner of Zebulon, NC; and his sister Georgia Hunt of Laurinburg, NC..
