He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Lee Vernon Futrell and Virginia Dare Cottle Futrell; his children, Amanda and George Futrell, Jr.; and his siblings, Jack of Gene, R. L., Juanita and Mary.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Arlene Futrell; his children, Clint Futrell, Adam Futrell (Brandie) and Virginia Rozalez; his grandchildren, Katelynn Futrell and Zachary Locklear; and his sister Helen Tartt. He is also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cape Fear Life Care Center in Wilmington or to Northside Baptist Church, honoring George's legacy of love, faith, and service.
