He was predeceased by: his parents, George Herman Owenby and Vivian Thorpe Owenby; his wife Carolyn Ann Owenby; and his brothers, Steve Thorpe and Kenneth "Buster" Owenby.
He is survived by: his children, Jenny Bramlett (Cody) of Knoxville, TN, Katie Lunsford (Justin) of Hickory, NC and Lewis Owenby, II (Andrea) of Danville, KY; his grandchildren, Logan, Zoey, Ezekiel, Ronan, Penelope, Davie, Mason and Annelise; and his sister Jane "Kathy" Morgan (Tony).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Groce Funeral Home (72 Long Shoals Rd, Arden, NC 28704). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
