He is survived by: his wife Regina Kennedy McWhorter; his children, Nicholas Kennedy (Christina), Sheree Townson (Johnny), Missty Chattmon (Craig), Jason Kennedy and Mark "Lil Mark" McWhorter III (Nieshai "Nikki"); his grandchildren, Makayla Kennedy and Jaiceon Kennedy; his siblings, Melvina Kennedy and Chris Richardson; and his close friend Hubert Carlton. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Alexander Funeral Service (193 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC 28681). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at the Third Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (285 3rd Creek Rd, Stony Point, NC 28678).
