She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert Elijah Simmons and Ollie Sigmon Simmons; her former life partner Gerald M. Killian Sr. of Catawba County; her husband Dewey W. Hennessee of Rutherford County; and her siblings, Stella Marlowe, Laura Huffman, Edith Sigmon, Mary Barger, Lucille Reed, Ruby Morrison, Pauline Teague and Clyde Simmons.

She is survived by : her children, Gerald M. Killian, Jr. (Janet) of Hickory, Rob K. Killian (Robin) of Bostic, Christopher W. Hennessee of Lenoir and Robin Hennessee Laffey (Patrick) of Morganton. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
