We bid farewell to Dulah Hammonds of Chadbourn, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 11, 2026 at the age of 85. Dulah touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Lee Tompkins and Annie Rebecca Spivey Tompkins; her spouse Derrell Purvis Hammonds, Sr.; and her siblings, Dorothy Lewis and Glenwood Tompkins.
She is survived by: her children, Candace Hammonds Conway (Steven) of Wilmington and Derrell Purvis Hammonds, Jr. (Kimberly) of Chadbourn; her grandsons, Gage Landon Hammonds and Dawson Reid Hammonds; and her siblings, Elwood Tompkins, Arthur Tompkins, Jr. (Annette), Katie Fowler (Othell), Eugene Tompkins (Linda) and Judy James (Bobby). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chadbourn Baptist Church.
