He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen Hammond and Dorcas Thompson Hammond. He is survived by: his wife Rosa Soles Hammond; his children, Greg Hammond (Wendy) of Bladenboro and Staci Hammond of Fair Bluff; and his brother Mark Hammond (Sara) of Raleigh. He is also survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
