He was predeceased by: his parents, Callie Elizabeth Thompson and John George Ransom, Sr.; his wife Sandra Jean Holt Ransom; and his brothers, Billy R. Ransom, Edward Allen Ransom, Junior Ransom and Donald D. Ransom.
He is survived by: his children, Duran Ransom (Rachel) and Farrah Ransom (John Carter); his granddaughter Amber Ransom Leonard (Austin); his stepgrandchildren, Brooke Norris, Sarah and Jamie Lynn Godwin; his great grandchild Preston Norris; and his siblings, Linda Ransom, Cathy R. Ivey and Lloyd Ransom (Debbie).
Visitation was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Worthington Funeral Home (405 E Strawberry Blvd, Chadbourn, NC 28431). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
