He was predeceased by: his mother Marjorie Spivey Nance; and his siblings, Daniel O. Nance and Geraldine "Jerri" Nance Evans. He is survived by: his son Michael Nance of Goldsboro; and his close friend Geraldine Gilmore. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
