He is survived by: his wife Carol Armistead Parrent; his daughters, Beth Boucher (Mike) of Castine, Maine, Ann Parrent (Leonard Reynolds) of Chapel Hill and Kate Parrent (Joe Baysdon) of Chapel Hill; his brother Overton Parrent, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Durham, NC; and his nephews, David Cox (Emily) of Knoxville and Kenneth Cox of Louisville, Kentucky..
