He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Reed and Claudia Wilkerson Massey; his wife Lynell; and his sister Virginia Massey Tucker. He is survived by: his son Michael Reid Massey of Raleigh; his brother Bill Massey; his grandchildren, Michael Reid, Jr., Dalton, Christian and Andrew Massey; and his great grandchildren, Caolan and James Massey.
