It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dana Jackie Hicks in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, who passed away on March 13, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Bethel Hicks and Henry Gardner Hicks; his brother Randolph Hicks; his niece Jessica Hicks; and his former life partner Dr. Marilyn P. Hicks.

He is survived by : his daughter Suzannah Hicks; his daughter-in-law Kim Armstrong; his grandson Daniel Ratley, Jr.; and his sisters-in-law, Darla Hicks and Joan Pack-Rowe. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
