With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Douglas Mann MD of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, born in Saint Joseph, Missouri, who passed away on January 19, 2024 at the age of 80. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Douglas Mann MD to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Earl J. Mann and Vera Mann (Johnson). He is survived by : his wife Judy; his children, Bob (Connie) of Charlotte and Sarah (Ross Carlson) of Suwanee, GA; his stepson Jon Love of Rock Hill, SC.; his brother Robert Mann (Kathryn) of Geneva, IL; his nephew Jeff; and his nieces, Julie and Alison.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of his legacy to one of the following organizations. To make a donation to the Department of Neurology at UNC so they can continue their battle to improve the lives of those with neurological diseases, including Parkinson's: J. “In loving memory of Douglas Mann MD, I feel so fortunate to have crossed paths with Dr. Mann. I worked on several research projects with him and went through the Shambhala trainings with him. I come from a working class background and was comforted to experience the grace, humility, generosity of spirit, kindness and humor that Dr. Mann shared with those that were not from his privileged position in this world. “Dear Judy, I just learned from Jennifer that Doug died on January 19. Betsey and I send you our love and heartfelt sympathy. We have thought of you often through the years and remember well how important both you and Doug have been in our lives. Doug took wonderful care of me back in the 90’s when I had a TIA. He diagnosed the problem in his special, caring manner and got me on the right treatment, which continues today. We are so thankful for his care. Sincerely, Meade and Betsey Christian”
