Frederick O. Bowman Jr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Frederick O. Bowman Jr. of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 20, 2026 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Frederick shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Frederick farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick O. Bowman and Sally Sanders Bowman; his wife Betsy; and his sister Betsy Bowman Townsend Wright. He is survived by: his sons, Rick of Charlotte, NC, John (Cindy) of Ithaca, NY, Michael (Rebecca) of Boca Raton, FL and Bill of Raleigh, NC.
The family will conduct a private service and requests that memorial contributions be made to The Bowman Fund for the Learning Disabled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
