She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh Getty and Geraldine Getty; and her brother Richard "Rik" Getty. She is survived by: her husband Wesley Burks; her children, Chris Burks, Sarah Burks Moore and Collin Burks; and her brother Don Getty.
A funeral service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Blacknall Memorial Presbyterian Church (1902 Perry St, Durham, NC 27705).
